Won the bid of Site B Instruction and Research Building and Biomedical Technology Building of Shuang Ho Hospital, Ministry of Health and Welfare construction project

With a budget of NT$3.5 billion spent on building a Silicon Valley of biomedical technology in Taiwan, it is hoped that Site-B Instruction and Research Building and Biomedical Technology Building of Shuang Ho Hospital will greatly enhance the biomedical technology and the R&D capacity of the Taipei medical system. In future, the Biomedical Technology Building will strengthen the incubation of startup companies. In addition to the construction of the R&D center in collaboration with the industry, a biomedicine accelerator of Taipei Hospital will be established. In association with the biomedicine research capacity of Taipei Medical University and the clinical resources and clinical experiments of Shuang Ho Hospital, innovative teams at home and abroad will be incorporated to build the incubation mechanism of the startup industry.

Won the bid of Yanping Elementary School Renovation Project

Yanping Elementary School is located at Changji Street, Datong District, Taipei City. Established in 1939, the facilities and buildings on campus were getting old and desperately needed replacement. The school entrusted the New Construction Office of the Public Works Department of the Taipei City Government to conduct this renovation project of four levels above ground and two levels below.

The renovation includes regular classrooms, subject-specific classrooms, themed classrooms, a library, a multi-functional audio/video room, a kindergarten, and a resources classroom. There will also be an underground parking managed in collaboration with the Taipei City Parking and Development Office as a gesture to give back to the community.

After the New Construction Office announced the open tender of the renovation project of Yanping Elementary School, Yang Tan Chu Architect & Engineer was entrusted to plan, design, and supervise the refurbishment. The architect takes the design concept of “Urban Window” and plans to use simple geometrical shapes for its elevation design and enhance the window vista by utilizing glass, deep windows, canopies and railings, plus frames of varied heights, elevated shadow and rhythm, and semi-outdoor corridors to connect the teaching, leisure and ecological spaces. The renovation will not only make the school more spatially flexible for events hosting but also create a green vista through the urban windows.

Sansin Builders has recently won the bid of Yanping Elementary School renovation project. We hope that the end result will be more than campus refurbishment for Yanping Elementary School but also an urban window to be shared with residents in Datong District.

Won the bid of the new construction project of Kang Chiao International School, Hsinchu Branch

To provide school children with better education environment and more choices to parents, Hsinchu City Government planned to spend NT$ 2.8 billion on the “New Campus Campaign” by building two new schools: Hsinchu Warldorf Experimental School, the first of its kind in Taiwan and the only one in Hsinchu City, and Guanpu Elementary School in response to the drastically increasing population in Guanpu’s land readjustment area. Hsinchu City Mayor, Lin Zhi-Jian, stressed that the students-centered spatial design, with joint participation of the community, students and teachers in the campus planning, shall turn the campus into a playground of knowledge, different from conventional school space.

Won the bid of the new construction project of Kang Chiao International School, Linkou Branch

Kang Chiao International School is located at the junction of Xinlin Road and Xinlin 1st Street in Linkou District of New Taipei City. Due to the limitation posed by the climate and other conditions, the campus configuration is planned with the idea of green campus and universality in design, plus energy saving and carbon reduction as the guiding principles, hoping that the construction following green-architecture approaches will lead to a sustainable green campus with ecologic education significance.

Won the bid of the new construction project of Bethany’s Children’s Home

Bethany Children’s Home was founded by Gladys Raleigh Aylward, a British pastor, in 1959. For the past five decades, it has shouldered the responsibility of taking care of displaced children and youths in Muza areas. To date, it has helped more than one thousand children and youths. It is expected that this building will become a fortress for children and young people in Taiwan to bring welfare to more children, young people, and families in need and guide them onto the path of God’s love.

The building’s concrete goals for the future:

  1. Construct a family placement and care model with the husband and wife being the care givers
  2. Establish a psychological consultation center for children and young people
  3. Establish a social worker training center to help children and young people in Taiwan and China
  4. Start service stations and outreach services for disadvantageous children and young people in the community
  5. Energize the Children’s Home and share it with families in the community for optimized service efficacy
  6. Serve as a Christian center to children and young people

Won the bid of Stage 3 of new construction project National Taiwan University Building for Research Excellence (Cheng Chiang Building)

This building was constructed with the donation of the actual object by Mr. Cheng Hsin-Yi. According to the plan, the new building is about 9917m². Part of it is supervise by the university for its use (about 2100m² for the Department of Biomechatronic Engineering and about 330m² for the Office of General Affairs). The remaining 7,227m² is used as the research areas for the Department of Chemical Engineering and the space for the future academia-industry cooperation between the Department of Chemical Engineering and Chang Chun Group. The building is estimated to be 7 levels above the ground and 1 level underground. The floor area ratio is 8,906.87m². The area of the base is 3,817m² with the architectural area of 1,621m², the building covering ration of 42.47%, and the floor ration area of . Called the “Cheng Chiang Building,” this project was approved by the urban construction review committee and approved by the Taipei City Government upon notification in January 2015.

627 Burn Case Management Center began to operate on the 14th

To cope with the Formosa Fun Coast Explosion Event, the central and regional government collaborated to establish the “627 Burn Case Management Center”, which began to operate on July 14. In the manner “one person per case,” each follow-up medical healthcare scheme will be projected integrating various resources after emergency medical care, including rebuilding, rehabilitation, home care, schooling, employment, and other demands. Accompanying patients and their families, it aims to follow-up their mental healthcare and rebuild their everyday life.

Mayor Eric Chu Li-luan of New Taipei City expressed that after the accident only a few patients with minor burnt left the hospitals, most of the victims are still in critical conditions. The Ministry of Health and Welfare is going to coordinate and integrate resources to provide medical care to patients in different courses of treatment until their conditions become stable. Then, they will be moved to 627 Burn Center Case Management Center seamlessly for mid-term and long-term care provided by its medical teams. The project management center will provide integrated consultation services and concern to the patients, their families, and people participated in the rescue by phone, helping them to overcome the ordeal. Director Lin Mei-Na of the center expressed, the center will endeavor to help all the 500 patients and their families with care and concern, regardless of their residence or household location.

The 627 Burn Case Management Center is consisted of consultation rooms, group therapy rooms, and occupational rehabilitation rooms. The full-time professionals there will provide all sorts of help and services to the patients and their families. If they have any doubts and needs, they can call the service hotline (02)2257-0627 on weekdays during the office hours from 8:00am to 8:00pm. Special personnel will provide all sorts of services through a single window. In this accident, there are about 200 victims living in the Greater Taipei area. To provide follow-up medical care and help to them, a special Burn Ward was established in Banqiao Hospital, which joined the burn medical care system in the Greater Taipei area, hoping to provide burnt patients to obtain medical care in a hospital nearby.

Zhu Li-lun expressed further that this unprecedented burn accident in Taiwan exposed the weakness of the sponsor in neglecting the process and details of the activity. It is hoped that with the lesson we learned from this accident, alerting people concern. We should seriously review the accident and make remedy, hoping similar accident will not happen again. Worthy of mentioning, Mr. Su, whose child was a student died in the accident and donated her organs after death, also attended the opening ceremony on the 14th. Su was originally a student major in dentistry in Taipei Medical University, unfortunately died in this accident. Mr. Su also advocated the government should give them full backup and continue taking care of other victims without giving them up. The 627 Burn Case Management Center is located on 6F, Banqiao Branch, New Taipei Hospital. It is grateful that Yue Long donated NT$ 16 million worth of equipment and professional medica apparatus to the “The 627 Burn Case Management Center.” At the same time, illustrators were invited to paint pictures in this space to comfort and cure the patients, their families, medical personnel, and people mentally by providing them with mental support. In addition, the New Taipei City Medical Association also donated NT$ 1 million; Acer, NT$ 250 thousand; and Sansin, NT$ 1 million. In addition to the donation, Sansin’s construction team also endeavored to help building the center. On July 14, the official opening ceremony, President Mao Chi-kuo of the Executive Yuan and Mayor Zhu Li-lun also attended the ceremony and visited the center.

For the burn patients, the emergency medical care provided to them is only the beginning. In the future, there will be a long way to go in the rehabilitation process. Won the bid of new construction project of the main building of Fu Jen Catholic University Hospital

The raising beam ceremony of new construction project of the main building of Fu Jen Catholic University Hospital was held at 10:30am, March 9. The hospital obtained the permit in December 2012 and began to be constructed in June 2013. On August 10, 2015, the first beam was erected. Today, the last beam was raised. The overall progress of the building is 216 days ahead of the schedule. It is established to be operated in July 2017.

The building of Fu Jen Catholic University Hospital is consisted of 15 levels above the ground and 4 levels underground, with the total of 1000 beds. Earlier, the steel framework of the building on the top floor was competed. The beam raising ceremony was held on the 9th. Fu Jen Catholic University Hospital invited Mayor Zhu Li-lun of New Taipei City and President Archbishop Peter Lau Cheng-chung were invited to host the ceremony, with the attendance of Deputy Minister Lin Si-Ling, legislators and councilors in the district, district executives of Xizhuang, Taisan, and Wugu, villager heads, donors, alumni and teachers of Fu Jen University, etc. They joined the ceremony to witness the milestone of the building of Fu Jen Catholic University Hospital. Now, there are about ten outpatient departments in the hospital. In addition, Chen Yung and Fu Ren Cancer Foundation also provides social aids and health services to the people. Fu Jen Catholic University also sponsors a healthcare fair and community service to provide healthcare services to the residents in the community.”
